ABOUT

Jessica Mitchell

Jessica Mitchell is a BAFTA nominated  director of photography with over 15 years of experience in the field. She received her BA(Hons) degree in Marine and Natural History Photography from Falmouth University, Cornwall where she developed a strong understanding of marine ecosystems, animal behavior and how to capture this on camera.

After graduation, Jessica began working straight away as a runner and camera assistant in the natural history TV industry before gradually transitioning to underwater cinematography. She has since worked on numerous documentaries, films, and commercials, capturing stunning footage of life above and below the waves in different environments around the world.

Jessica's expertise includes using specialised equipment such as underwater cameras and lighting systems, as well as understanding the unique challenges of underwater cinematography such as dealing with low light.

Some of Jessica's notable projects include the award-winning documentary "The Green Planet" which explores the fragile ecosystem of our earth, and the feature film "Into the Deep," which showcases the beauty and danger of the ocean.

Overall, Jessica's passion for marine life and cinematography has led to a successful career as an underwater director of photography, bringing the beauty and wonder of the underwater world to audiences around the globe.
